Unison has a range of rooming house, apartments, units and houses for long term social housing in the Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne and also Geelong. These properties offer security of tenure and are available to single people, couples and families who are on low incomes via Centrelink.

We are committed to ensuring that the people we house gain access to the support, resources, and opportunities needed to sustain their housing, build a sense of home and participate in the wider community. We do this through effective partnerships and connections with specialist organisations.

Prospective Tenants can gain access to this long term social housing in two ways:

The Adelaide site located at 102 Waymouth Street Adelaide has 27 Social Housing properties available on long term leases to eligible tenants that meet the following criteria:

Eligibility and How to Apply

Eligible Tenants will be selected from waiting lists maintained by the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion and the Community Housing Customer Register (CHCR).

  • Preference is given to people who are on Category 1 of the list.
  • Persons selected are entitled to receive Commonwealth Rent Assistance (CRA), or if not eligible for CRA, Housing SA must agree to the person/s being housing at rental costs appropriate for that person's circumstances.

Eligibility requirements are in line with the South Australian Government eligibiilty guidelines.
