Pop up energy savings

Many people on low incomes are missing out on energy concessions according to the Victorian Council Of Social Service (VCOSS). In a recent report it was found that 14% of people eligible for an energy concession weren’t claiming it; lack of awareness is the number one reason. The Missing 14% | VCOSS

Unison has partnered with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and cohealth for the second year, to offer energy plan assistance to Unison residents, including assisting people apply for the $250 Power Saving Bonus.

The two-week pop-up outreach centre has lent a helping hand to Unison residents offering a free energy bill “health check” to make sure people are getting best value energy plans.

Residents have dropped in and received help to:

  • apply for the $250 Power Saving Bonus
  • check if they’re getting their energy concessions
  • find out if they could save with a cheaper energy plan
  • access debt relief for their energy bills
