Employed and looking for housing? Struggling to find suitable/affordable properties in the private market? Unison may be able to help you.
As a not-for-profit organisation, Unison provides safe and affordable long-term housing to employed and low-income people.
We are committed to ensuring our tenants access the support, resources, and opportunities needed to sustain their housing, build a sense of home, and participate in the wider community. We do this through effective partnerships and connections with specialist organisations.
The properties, owned and managed by Unison, are located in the inner city, in the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne, the outer western suburbs regions and Geelong.
Eligibility
All applicants must be over 18 years of age and meet the following criteria:
- Australian Citizenship OR Permanent Residency status
- Currently live in Victoria
- Stable rent history and working part time or full time
- Income within limits as set by the Victorian Government.

If you have met the eligibility criteria and have been deemed eligible for affordable housing, visit realestate.com.au where all our vacancies are advertised with contact details included on each listing. The properties are highlighted as affordable properties stating eligibility criteria for applicants.

How to apply
Once you have found a suitable property, click on the 'Contact Agent' button on the listing of the property you are interested in.
We will email you further information and an application form to complete, sign and return to our office with the following documentation:
- Last three months of payslips
- Proof of any other income.
Our team will check your application, and if eligible, we will contact you to arrange an inspection of the property.
