A generous donation for our Geelong office

GCHCUP

Our Geelong office received a generous donation last month when a local resident dropped off clothing store gift cards to be given to those who come to Unison for assistance.

Caitlyn, who works for a local clothing store, explained that her own experience with needing housing when she was younger, and the help she found through a local youth organisation, had inspired her to want to help others in need.

“I was in a bit of a situation [when I was younger]...I guess I know what it’s like to be in a tough spot.”

She shared her story with her manager and told them about her idea of putting together starter packs for a local kids’ home. Her manager was more than happy to help and generously offered a bundle of gift cards to be used at the clothing store, which Caitlyn donated to Unison for “people who need them the most”, as well as to the organisation that had helped her when she was younger.

This donation will enable Unison to make things easier for people and families who are doing it tough and struggling to afford everyday essentials like clothing.

Thank you to Caitlyn, and her manager, for their thoughtfulness and generosity.
