Check your Window Coverings are Secure
From 1 December 2025, all blinds and curtains with cords in rental homes must have a safety anchor or cleat and be at least 1.6m above ground. Cords must be kept tight so they can’t form a loose loop.
This is now part of the minimum standards under the Residential Tenancies Regulations 2021.
Below are examples of what secure and and unsecure cords look like:

❌ Loose cord with no safety anchor
