Make Room - Appointment of Harris HMC
Unison is happy to announce the appointment of Harris HMC as the ECI contractor for the Make Room project. The Make Room project is a partnership between the City of Melbourne, Unison and the Victorian Government, supporting vulnerable community members experiencing primary homelessness (rough sleeping) and homelessness in the City of Melbourne.
The vision is for the Make Room project to set a new standard for short-term accommodation in Victoria, providing supported accommodation for people for up to 12 months with wrap-around support to prepare and transition people into longer-term sustainable housing.
This is an important, high-profile pilot project that will benefit the City of Melbourne community – socially and economically - by providing sector leadership and helping to address the urgent task of the urban renewal of the Melbourne CBD. In recognition of the great value, this project will bring to the community, Harris HMC elected to donate their design experience and services free of charge.
Unison is looking forward to working with Harris HMC’s experienced and passionate team, who will add value to the vision, apply innovative solutions to the opportunity and facilitate cost-effective and timely delivery of works.
Unison acknowledges the project’s philanthropic partners, including The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust, The Gandel Foundation, and The Ian Potter Foundation, to name a few, whose support makes this project possible.
