NAIDOC Week July 8-15

NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life.

This year’s theme is Because of her we can!  The theme celebrates the role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played – and continue to play – as leaders, trailblazers, politicians, activists and social change advocates.

Unison acknowledges and pays respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and the roles they play on all levels. We particularly acknowledge and pay respect to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in our Unison communities.
