Ready to grow
Our McIntyre Drive Altona residents are ready and waiting for the warm Spring sunshine (aren’t we all!) to help grow fresh food in their new planter boxes.
The planter boxes were installed as part of recently secured funding for the Healthy Living Program. The program encourages healthy living through resident involvement and participation in growing and harvesting their own food crops.
Our project partners are the local Men’s Shed, CoHealth and Hobsons Bay Council. Feedback from residents has been extremely positive with many showing a keen interest in caring for and harvesting their own crops.
Great work by team members Vicki Dalton and Andrew Williams and the residents in gaining the funding and supporting the installation of the new garden boxes. The Healthy Living Program nicely highlights Unison’s vision of creating communities that thrive, whilst demonstrating how we live by and model our values of People, Positivity, Accountability and Respect.
